Supervised visits, changeovers and intake assessments delivered in a safe, structured environment.
Before any family begins using our service, each parent attends their own individual intake appointment. This gives us the chance to understand your family's circumstances, any relevant court orders, and any safety considerations — and to explain clearly how our service works.
A supervised visit gives a child time with a parent in a safe, neutral setting, with a trained Contact Supervisor present throughout. In line with the CCS Guiding Principles Framework, a minimum of two trained staff are on site during all visits. Visits are booked in a minimum two-hour block.
Visits take place in our large, child-friendly supervision room, which has separate entrances for each participant — parents do not need to encounter one another when arriving or leaving, and all external doors remain locked during services.
Where appropriate, supervised time can also take place in the community — for example at a park, playground or other agreed public location — with our trained staff supervising throughout. Community supervision can suit families where a more natural setting is in the child's best interests. Availability is assessed at intake and depends on the family's circumstances and any court orders in place.
A changeover allows a child to move between parents without the parents needing to interact directly, reducing conflict and providing a calmer, more predictable transition for the child. As with supervised visits, a minimum of two trained staff are on site.
